Cops on Camera May Get You Arrested

The Cato Institute put together a scary video of the increasing problem of cops arresting people merely because the people are filming the cops to their cop thing.  The only reason cops do it is because they don’t want video evidence of cops breaking the law.

Military Personnel Returning Home to Loved Ones

Five months after Carol and I were married the U.S. Air Force sent me overseas to Thailand and Korea for 13 months.  When I returned, Carol met me at Sky Harbor Airport.  I wish somebody had filmed my return.  This is a heartwarming video compilation of many military families being reunited.  The background song is “Praan,” by Garry Schyman.

Cities Increasingly Turn to ‘Trash Police’ to Enforce Recycling Laws

Fox News:  “Beware the green police. They don’t carry guns and there’s no police academy to train them, but if you don’t recycle your trash properly, they can walk up your driveway and give you a $100 ticket.  They know what’s in your trash, they know what you eat, they know how often you bring your recycles to the curb — and they may be coming to your town soon. That is, if they’re not already there.”

So Sad: 09 Law Grad in Top Half of Class Works as a Coffee Barista for $7.50/hour

I hate to hear these stories, which unfortunately are too common during these difficult economic times.  A 26 year old recent law school graduate is interviewed on CNN about her inability to find a lawyer job despite graduating in the top half of her class, passing the Georgia bar on her first attempt and sending out over 100 job applications.  She now has a big school loan debt and works as a coffee barista for $7.50 an hour.

See “Many underemployed law grads from the classes of 2009 and 2010 are beefing up their resumés with volunteer work.”

Man Arrested for OSWI – Operating Stroller While Intoxicated

A man pushing his two kids in a stroller was charged by police for “child endangering and intoxication.”  A court found the man guilty as charged.  My fear is that this case will unleash a new wave of OSWI lawyers and OSWI ads on TV and the sides of buses.
