Scottsdale & Paradise Valley Speed Photo Enforcement

Arizona Republic on Scottsdale’s speed cameras:  “The speed-enforcement cameras may be leaving Arizona freeways soon, but don’t expect them to disappear from Scottsdale streets.  Scottsdale’s photo-enforcement program, which is run by the city police department, has been successful in getting drivers to slow down and drive safer, said Bill Moloney, program manager.”

Arizona Republic on Paradise Valley’s speed cameras:  “The first photo-enforcement van in Arizona took to the streets in Paradise Valley in the fall of 1987.  John Wintersteen, former Paradise Valley chief of police, said it was the first in the nation and continues to be part of the longest-running photo-enforcement program in the country.”
