Judge Asked to Toss Peoria Couple’s Walmart Nude Pic Suit

Arizona Republic:  “Peoria and the state are asking a federal judge to dismiss a lawsuit filed by a Peoria couple who say they were falsely accused of sexually exploiting their young daughters.   Lisa and Anthony ‘.J.’ Demaree lost physical custody of their three daughters for a month last fall after a Walmart photo clerk found a handful of naked bath- and playtime shots of the girls among a group of photos dropped off for developing.”

Arizona Legislature Passes Bill Authorizing Governor Brewer to Hire Outside Legal Counsel to Do Job Arizona’s Attorney General Will Not Do – Sue to Overturn Obamacare

The Republican controlled Arizona legislature passed a law that authorizes Governor Brewer to hire a law firm to file a lawsuit on behalf of the state to challenge the constitutionality of Obamacare.  Because Arizona Attorney General Terry Goddard refused to do his job and represent Arizona, the legislature and Governor Brewer were forced to take action that will cost the State of Arizona more money than if the AG’s office were to handle the case.

Feds Sue Phoenix Company Alleging Bogus Pre-approved Car Loans

Courthouse News Service:  “Federal prosecutors say Phoenix-based Direct Marketing Associates scammed consumers with direct mailers that claimed they had been pre-approved for car loans. But John M. Rainey Jr., who ran the company, had no such agreement with any finance company . . . .”  See the complaint.
