From the refusal to enforce the laws of the United States and the disregard for the oath of Presidential office department: Arizona Senator Jon Kyl met with President Obama who told him that he would not enforce the border until after the Democrats pass amnesty for illegal immigrants. Obama’s acknowledgment that he will not enforce U.S. law starts around three minutes into the video when Senator Kyl says that President Obama said:
“The problem is, . . . if we secure the border, then you all won’t have any reason to support ‘comprehensive immigration reform.’”
Hot Air responds:
“What’s stunning is simply the fact that he’d be so candid, to a member of the opposition no less, in admitting his dereliction of duty. Sure, he could fulfill his constitutional responsibility and try to enforce federal law — but what good will that do him politically?”
Apparently President Obama has changed the Presidential oath of office contained in Article II, Section I of the U.S. Constitution to read as follows (new Obama text in red):
“I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States, but if I disagree with a particular law because it does not further my political goals, I will not enforce it.”
