Arizona Republic: “Criminal defendants in Maricopa County can get fair trials even if the county prosecutor is at war with judges who run the Superior Court, says a visiting judge from another county appointed to be an impartial arbiter in the matter. Maricopa County Attorney Andrew Thomas’ lawsuits and criminal charges against county officials, and his investigations of county projects, do not directly affect most defendants, Cochise County Superior Court Judge Wallace Hoggatt wrote in a ruling published Tuesday morning.”
