The Commission on Appellate Court Appointments has recommended four candidates to Governor Jan Brewer for an opening on Division Two of the Arizona Court of Appeals created by the appointment of Chief Judge John Pelander to the Arizona Supreme Court.

The nominees are Christina M. Cabanillas, Democrat, Appellate Chief of the United States Attorney’s Office; Gary J. Cohen, Democrat, a partner with the law firm of Mesch, Clark & Rothschild, P.C.; Virginia C. Kelly, Republican, a judge in the Pima County Superior Court; and, Michael O. Miller, Republican, a judge in the Pima County Superior Court.

Governor Brewer will appoint the new judge.
